LATEST ON CRISIS AT TUM.
The stalemate over the ongoing Election dispute at Technical University of Mombasa took a fresh twist Thursday when Transformative Alliance said they haven't so far rejected or accepted the results of the just concluded polls.Speaking on phone with NewsClinton, Transformative Alliance running mate Nelly Ondicho said that they will issue an official statement soon that will outline their stand.
Ms Ondicho,who declined an interview with Al shifaa Radio,faulted the media for making it appear that the contest was between Supreme Alliance and Transformative Alliance.She wondered why The invincible Alliance was left out of the equation.
This comes even as Dan Sichei's whereabouts still remain a mystery.On Thursday, students from both sides of the political divide united in urging the relevant authorities to help them find him.Dan Sichei is alleged to have gone missing on Wednesday immediately after the strike with his phone number switched off since then.On Wednesday Al shifaa Radio requested for an interview with him at 8 AM.In his response he said he was willing but requested for the rescheduling to 11 AM of which he didn't show up.
On Thursday,the University made no communication to the students concerning any issue, with their last message being about the indefinite closure of the university on Wednesday.The University main gate was closed with very few students allowed to get in under thorough scrutiny.Religious bodies within the school have already advised their members to look for alternative means of worship this weekend.TUMSDA was the first body to suspend it's meetings due to unavailability of the venue.
"Due to the current situation ,at the school ,we'll postpone our BBA meeting to happen this evening due to unavailability of the venue.Stay posted for further details,"read a message from the second chairperson of TUMSDA Paul Mwangi on Wednesday.
Sources from within the university detail that the university council may decide on the reopening next week.
Yesterday,a memo purporting to have come from the administration saying the school will resume services next year January,caused jitters in the students fraternity only to be learnt that it was fake.
